Question...
Is it normal for a domain user to be unable to change their password once logged into a system that uses a fingerprint reader?
This is my first real experience with fingerprint readers and I haven't been able to find much info on this. We have a ThinkPad R500 and what happens is when a domain user logs on they then get prompted with the fingerprint software screen. They can enroll their fingerprints at this time or not. If they enroll then later use Ctrl+Alt+Del to change their password, it's always in correct. I've tried removing the fingerprint association and still can't do it. A user that doesn't setup the fingerprint it up is able to change their password using this method though. If the password expires and they need to change it upon logon it allows them to enter a new password, but not after logging on.
Anyone able to shed some light on this for me? Just curious as to if this is the norm.
