Do you proactively scan for events? Do you monitor users folders for unsavory material (photos, etc) that could otherwise stain the company's image or worse?
Or was that over your duties, and did you just have to let the company slide by the wayside?
I'm in a situation where I discovered questionable material on a user's PC, and instead of "woah, we should look into this" it's "What the hell were you doing looking around users folders?"
A prior position I held was once at a school in a major school district, and one of the things they told me I needed to do as part of my position was police the network for this kind of information. Apparently companies that aren't in the public school system - but also have a sizable interest in today's youth - don't care about such things. Apparently a staff member in the past had taken unsolicited photos and some of them were questionable shots of fellow staff members (and their younger members) and it was dismissed outright. This situation now falls into a classification that scares me beyond reprieve, and I'm being the labeled the enemy, simply because I tried to do my job. Or what they once told me was important to them.
Apparently not.
