Having recently become self employed (again) I need a more sophisticated way of managing my client's network and technical details. I currently just create a spreadsheet for each client with asset names, ip addresses, passwords, configuration details etc. I sync the spreadsheet using dropbox so I can access it from anywhere, mobile access is particularly important.
There is obviously a security concern using cloud based solutions so ideally I would hope to either host my own solution or perhaps just better organised spreadsheets.
