Are there any good solutions out there in the field, for documenting and tracking the assignment of various accounts and privileges that should be granted?
I am talking about role-based access controls, where the list of privileges is inherent to the job class (role) of the person.
We have struggled with various approaches, from spreadsheets, to a set of folders with specific names in a file share (and screenshots inside), and so forth.
If we had the time and energy to do a full management system like Quest Active Roles Server, that would be the end-game - but short of Active Roles, I am just wondering if there are any good ready-made solutions for just tracking who gets what access.
