Securing data from going outside to office.

Hi there,

Our environment, We have Windows Server 2012 R2 as a file server and the whole network is in Workgroup.

Users used to access the data by the usernames allocated to each.

My Question is :

1.Whether file server means people are supposed to open files from Server itself and use and save to Server itself or it needs to copy to local computer and use and save to Server.

If everything can be done from Server like accessing ,processing and saving on Server itself whether it is ok for so many users to connect and use at a time.

2.Right now the users can copy the data to local computers , it means they can take the data to their home , so there is risk of data leakage to competitive company...So what is the solution for this ?

Thanks in Advance
