a carpet walking end user asked me if i would come and type my admin credentials for him. -->cue suspicious muisc<--
he wanted to install a new netflix client -->really, ok i suppose he is allowed to use the laptop 40% of the time for personal use when not at the office, but i was unaware of a Windows 7 Netflix client. <--
i sit down and he says type it here. i click cancel and say oops, now what do i need to click on to start over.
he navigates me to his *FLASH DRIVE* GRRRRRRRRR!!!!! and there resides a zipped folder called Popcorn Time. I tell him that it is not netflix and i would have to check into it.
he has not asked since, but i have learned what Popcorn Time is and absolutely do NOT want it on company owned laptops or on our network.
ahhhhh, so much joy in the life of a lonely IT guy.
;-)
EDIT: I very purposely did NOT post links to the software and would like to ask that none be posted in the comments. It *may* be technically legal software but sure does not pass the 'feel test' for me and i have doubts if it would pass a court test either.
