Kaspersky reports system disconnected from network during network agent deployme

So far the new rollout of Kaspersky v10 has been painless but I have run into an issue. I am trying to deploy the network agent to the owners laptop and every time it returns an error saying that the "the computer is probably disconnected from the network."

I have checked the windows firewall and it is turned off. I disabled the existing antivirus (symantec endpoint) and can successfully connect using both \\admin02\c$ and \\admin02\admin$ from the Kaspersky Security Center Server so the laptop is definitely not offline.

Update - as I was typing this I rebooted the Kespersky server and it allowed me to install the network agent and uninstall symantec but now I am getting the same error trying to deploy the Kaspersky client to the laptop.

more troubleshooting - I modified the task settings under "Force download of the installation...
