One more topic tobe solvedon the bucket list today...
To cut to the chase, we are reluctantly enabling WhatsApp for pupils to access in our schools through Smoothwall (our firewall) and be used during their break times.
At the moment, we have opened several ports and allowed certain URLs to accommodate the needs of the App. Unfortunately, when sending a message fromone device to another through the WiFi using WhatsApp, it will sit as pending (with the clock) and never go through until it finds a cellular connection.
The ports we have opened are:
TCP & UDP 5223
TCP & UDP 80
TCP & UDP 5222
TCP & UDP 443
TCP & UDP 4244
TCP & UDP 5242
TCP & UDP 5228
Has anyone else experienced any other issues similar to this? Are there ports or URLs that must be unblocked or any port forwarding that needs to be done?
