Wondering if I can bounce some ideas off of you all? I have a few file shares on the network and we are getting to the point of restricting access to various items... the previous IT managers didn't really have restrictions on files (horrible idea) and now we are implementing them.For me, we have a lot of security groups (pointless sometimes) because there always seems to be the case where one person in that group needs access to one item the others don't.
Therefore..... say for example I have a network share called SHARE1. Only people in a group called SHARE1 have access to it now but I have one rogue employee who needs access to it. I do not want to add them to the security group SHARE1 so I just added their name to the individual security permissions for the drive, etc..
My thought is that if only eight people need access...
