I received a cold call email from Sophos (http://www.sophos.com/en-us/lp/truecrypt-replacement.aspx)claiming they are a TrueCrypt replacement. I'm not sure why, but this angered me when I got to the part where it said "Free Trial" & "Free Quote". TrueCrypt was/is popular by in large because it is Open Source and Free. Claiming to be a replacement for such a tried and true product that has recently taken a mysterious hiatus is a big turn off. It seems like they are using this downturn as a perfect marketing/advertisement tool. They have a comparison chart that you can download to compare Sophos SafeGuard 6.1 and TrueCrypt. Two things, it's not accurate and it's not fair comparing an updated piece of software with a discontinued one. You might as well compare Windows 3.1 and Windows 7.
