EDIT: Changed the title has this reflects more what I need now.
This is my first time investigating this, I do not understand what they were trying to do. With the help of l0ft1369 we came to the conclusion that whatever they were trying to do is not working.
As this is my first "investigation" of the sort I would appreciate the community's feedback on the process and result we got to. Just to make sure I properly covered all my basis!

This information is from a formatted logwatch that get email every morning.
There is one line I cannot explain within the httpd section. Within the 404 Not Found section 2 days ago there was this line:
http://z.nixipdb.com/: 1 Time(s)
When I ping this I get a different ip address then the one from where the log comes from (my server).
Although I am confused as to why when I ping...
