Spiceworks, AlienVault and suspicious IP reports

I am curious about something.  Lately, we seem to be seeing reports from Spiceworks about "malicious" or "suspicious" attacks, etc from certain IP addresses.  When clicking on the "Threat Details", it takes me to an AlienVault page.

So.... is this something new that SpiceWorks is reporting on or is this somehow tied to a SW Partner and service/software being marketed....or both?
