I would like for other pros to weigh in on what their company’s policy is on connections offsite hosts through technologies such as LogMeIn and GotoMyPC. I realize that they are great tools to enhance productivity and cut traveling cost, but the loss of control is a concern to me. Especially when connections are allowed to off-site hosts.
I would like to know:
• Do you allow your employees to connect to his/her home computer, or to a computer in another partnering company, through one of these remote connection tools?
• If not, how do you block it?
• If yes, how do you protect company data from not being transferred to someone’s home computer? Or is it not a concern for your company?
• How do you protect the network against file transfers to and from an infected off site computer.
