Let me start by saying this is the system that was here long before my time with this company, currently we have two VM's that are running just basic Win 7 Pro, with D-Link ViewCam Studio.
We have about 25 cameras on the first VM and about 10 on the second VM.. All IP cameras with a couple here and there that are PoE, everything does WORK. I know the old saying is "Don't fix what ain't broke" but this system is terrible... The software is super laggy, uses a ton of resources and sometimes crashes and I don't know about it so whenever someone does need video records it probably won't be there because I didn't catch the service not running for a couple days....
My question is, is with all these d-link cameras that we have is there a PAID software solution or something free could even be better. That is better than this DLINK D VIEW CAM STUDIO thing that we are currently using???
I have enough bandwidth and the systems the software will be running on is very up to par...
I just want someone who has had first hand experience with this DViewCam software and went to something else that is better.
Any information that could help me out would be amazing!
