I'm looking at putting in a few new camera systems soon at a number of warehouses.
My model has typically been this:
- install inexpensive ip cameras
- Set up NVR/DVR at another location to record camera feeds
The problem is that most of these smaller warehouses don't have the bandwidth to push multiple megabit camera feeds to another location.
Buying NVR software and a PC to keep at a warehouse, and maintaining the NVR can be cumbersome and expensive. I haven't yet settled on a good NVR software package, either. The good stuff can triple my install budget, so I haven't yet gone there.
Does anyone drop sd cards into their IP cameras? I figure if the camera is up high enough, it will be hard to vandalize. Do you use software to review recordings, or the camera interface itself? Any other thoughts on the matter?
